I agree with this completely. I am living in Springfield,Mass and there is a big shortage of doctors here. A few years ago I was trying to get a primary care and 99% of the doctors aren't taking new patients. Then I finally got one and he is so busy that he has to do his notes with his headset on while I am trying to discuss with him my problem. I don't appreciate that either. For the high deductibles and copays, the insurance is totally worthless and just a big joke. I work so I am fortunate to have health insurance but when I had trouble finding a doctor, the health insurance really didn't seem to matter. My concern with the government getting involved that they will standardize everything and that the doctors will not be allowed to manage patients the way they see fit. It will all be dictated by the government. Also, again as was mentioned, people really need jobs right now and that should be a priority. Encouraging businesses that are still existing and promoting the start of new businesses for more jobs. There is little police protection in the city, libraries are closed or decreased hours, city workers have been laid off, and so on. We simply cannot afford something like this. They are not realistic as to what is going on with the people that they are serving. And yes, Massachusetts didn't have enough money to cover this and none of the politicians point that out.
